Warm Weather Gryffindor Beret

This winter, I discovered a love of knit berets... however, I live down here in Florida, so heavy wool or the normal gauges of such hats are impractical. Enter my favorite yarn in the whole world (at least thus far), Sugar 'n Cream, which is a lighter cotton and comes in all sorts of crazy bright colors to suit my fancy. I used a heavily modified version of the House Color Beret from Charmed Knits (Allison Hansel). Not hard, though I still haven't worked out exactly how to use DPNs, so I ended up just decreasing on the circ. needle until I couldn't use it anymore and threaded the live stitches then (that's why the hole in the back top of the hat is so huge). Also, with the cotton yarn, the brim tends to stretch out... blocking might solve this problem, but I don't know how to do that either.
