buy the most expensive vodka you can afford, along with vanilla beans.
the more vanilla beans the better. slice beans longways
leave in closed bottle for at least 1month
strain when ready to use, I use coffee filter rubberbanded over top of bottle. delish for baking or for mixing in drinks.
