I had this old pillow laying around that I wanted to recover, but decided to just take it apart and make a new pillow because I wanted to utialize the cord that was originally around it.
Step 2
Start by taking your pieces apart.
Step 3
I used some white taffeta I had left over from a previous project that I used to cover the navy blue cord from the original pillow. Sew this on using your zipper foot.
Step 4
Use your original pattern to make a new one out of your upholstry fabric.
Step 5
Pin the cording of inbetween your fabric.
Step 6
Sew around using your zipper foot, leave an opening to turn your pillow around in.
Step 7
I also went ahead and sewed the cording to one side of my fabric to make it easier when it came time to close it up later.
Ideally I would have added a zipper to this, but as I didn't have one on hand I decided to just go ahead without it.
Step 8
Turn right side out and stuff with your fiber fill.
Step 9
Pin and sew shut using your zipper foot or by hand. And voila! You've got a new throw pillow.
