  • How to make a halter top. The Awesome Holy Shirt - Step 1
    Step 1

Find a fitted Tee. Turn it inside-out.

(Mine was kinda baggy, so I had to take it in at the end. I reccomend finding one that is fitted to begin with.)

    Step 2

Cut off your sleeves just inside the seam. I reccommend cutting through one layer at a time to salvage as much fabric as possible.

    Step 3

Cut the inside seam out of the sleeves. The serged part.

    Step 4

Say yes when your friends ask if they can wear the sleeves as headbands. Let them steal your internet.

    Step 5

Now cut off the top of the shirt straight across, just below the neckband.

    Step 6

On both sides of the shirt, fold over a hem of about 1 inch, pin, and sew.

    Step 7

Keeping your shirt inside out, draw a series of squares along the top with your pencil. This is the front of the shirt, so don't go too low on the shapes. Cut them out.

    Step 8

Repeat on the other side. You can go lower on these because it's the back.

Thread the seams you cut off of the sleeves through the casings on both sides.

    Step 9

To wear, tie the seams/strings on the top of both shoulders and you're good to go.

Gosh... I can't remember! I think I was thinking about stained glass at the time... It was really fun to see what patterns I could come up with! (and would work!) I'd love to see other people's versions of it!
