This is a tasty, spiced bar.

It tastes & smells like Christmas.

    Heat oven 180/350 degrees.

    Mix together all ingredients except the pastry & extra sugar.

    Heat the mixture & bring to a boil.

    Boil until mixture is thickened.

    Let cool for a little while.

    Roll out 3/4 of the pastry.

    Line into a tin, coming up the edge.

    Fill the dish with the currant mixture.

    Roll the remaining pastry & place on top.

    Seal the edges.

    Cut the pastry to make a neat edge.

    Wet with a little water & sprinkle with sugar.

    Make a few holes in the top.

    Bake for 45-50 mins.
