With their round shape and cute accessories, snowmen are perfect cake pops!
If you're thinking about making cake pops for the holidays, snowmen are the perfect subject. Perfectly round heads on top of perfectly round bodies, plus all those cute little accessories... it would almost be a waste to make one out of snow instead of cake and candy coating!

  • How to bake cake pops. Snowman Chistmas Cake Pops - Step 1
    Step 1

To make snowman cake pops you will need:

    White cake balls
    Lollipop sticks
    Green and white candy melts
    Green and white sparkling sugar
    Black confetti sprinkles
    Orange candy-coated sunflower seeds
    Chocolate jimmies
    Red shoestring candy
    Jumbo red heart sprinkles
    Sour candy belts
    Toothpicks
Tweezers (clean and used for food only)
Styrofoam block or cake pop stand

    Step 2

Start by making your cake balls and chilling them in the fridge or freezer until you are ready to start dipping your snowman cake pops. Make half the cake balls a slightly larger size for the bottom layer of your snowman cake pops.

    Step 3

Start by microwaving your white candy melts in a bowl on low power for 30-seconds at a time. Stop and stir after each 30-second interval then repeat until the coating is completely melted. Do not overheat the candy melts or your coating will become lumpy. If the coating is too thick, add a small amount of vegetable oil or shortening to thin it out.

Dip the end of a lollipop stick into the melted coating and then into a larger-sized cake ball, gently pushing until the stick is about half way through the cake ball. Complete this step for all of the larger-sized cake balls then set them in the fridge until they are chilled. Although your smaller-sized cake balls have not been dipped in candy coating, place them in the fridge so they are chilled for the next step.

    Step 4

If your white coating has cooled or thickened, repeat the microwave heating process.

Dip a cake pop straight down into the white coating until the cake ball is completely covered and sealed. If you need to angle the cake pop, gently tilt it in one direction and then another. Do not stir the coating with the cake pop or it may fall off of the stick. Remove the cake pop from the melted coating by pulling it straight up. Then, turn the cake pop at an angle and gently tap off any excess coating. Turn the cake pop upright and set it in a styrofoam block or cake pop stand. Continue working quickly so that the coating does not harden before the smaller-sized cake ball is added on top.

By hand, dip a smaller-sized cake ball into the candy coating so that just one edge is coated. Then set it on top of the coated cake pop, using the candy coating as a seal to hold the two pieces together. Stand your snowman upright, complete this step for all your remaining cake pops, and set them in the fridge to chill.

While your cake pops are chilling, prepare your decorations for the next step. You will need black confetti sprinkles, orange candy-coated sunflower seeds, and chocolate jimmies.

    Step 5

f your white coating has cooled or thickened, repeat the microwave heating process. Remove your chilled snowman cake pops from the fridge.

Dip a cake pop upside down into your white candy coating to completely coat the top smaller-sized cake ball. While the coating is still wet, us a (clean, for food only) pair of tweezers to place your sprinkles in the bottom two-thirds of top cake ball for the snowman eyes, nose, and mouth. If the coating hardens before you get all the sprinkles in place, simply dip a toothpick in the melted coating and use is as glue. Complete this step for each cake pop, moving on to the next step after all the coating has dried.

While you wait for the coating to harden, prepare for the next step by cutting your red shoe string candy into strips for earmuffs. You will also need your green and white sanding sugars.

    Step 6

    Melt your green candy coating.

Dip a cake pop upside down in the coating, covering the top third of the smaller-sized cake ball to create the snowman's hat. Turn the cake pop upright and set a strip of red shoestring candy on top. If the candy is too long, do not worry because you can cut it later. While the coating is still wet, sprinkle green sparkling sugar over the cake pop to add some sparkle to your snowman's hat.

Next, use a toothpick to spread green candy coating around the rim of your snowman's hat. Sprinkle white sparkling sugar onto the wet coating.

    Step 7

Complete this step for all of your cake pops. Once the coating hardens, you can use a pair of kitchen scissors to trim the red shoe string candy.

    Step 8

If your white coating has cooled or thickened, repeat the microwave heating process.

Dip a toothpick into the coating and use a small amount as glue to adhere a red heart sprinkle on each side of your cake pops for ear muffs.

Use a toothpick to apply a small amount of coating around the neck area and adhere the snowman's scarf. Just a dab of coating will hold the scarf closed in the front of the cake pop.

Use a toothpick to apply a small amount of coating in each spot where you want your snowman to have a button. Use a (clean, for food only) pair of tweezers to put each black confetti sprinkle in place.

Complete this final step for all of your cake pops and allow the coating to completely harden before packaging.
