Force a ancestry from the bottom of the knickers leg to the serving,Testking VCP-510 I commonly retributive go all the way up to the angle region. What your doing is your art the communication your accomplishment to sew
also, what if you want to undo the stitch sometime later is it possible to hav e a strong enough stitch to hold the pants but still be able to seam rip it???
hey love this but what kind of stitch do you use if you are machine sewing, and would you recommend stitching it twice? or using a different stitch the second time?? what would hold it together the strongest like the stich companies use on their jeans
Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been answering you guys questions right away! :
So I'll answer everyone now, the best that I can.
@Emily:
Well, there are needles that you can buy specifically for sewing jeans(I think they're called denim needles) so you can buy those, but I don't use anything special unless the fabric is tough.
@Sarah T.:
I think it really just depends on the denim. From my experience, I've found that it's muuuuch easier to sew on jeans that have a stretch to them. But I've sewn some that didn't and it was a little tough if I didn't have a good enough needle.
@Lady Pattern:
When hand sewing I use the double stitch.
So, I hope my answers are helpful lol. Thank you everyone for faving and commenting! <3
Well, it depends on
1. How well(tight?) you sew the pants, like make sure the stitching isn't spaced too far apart.
2. What color thread you use.
The first few skinny jeans I ever made were hand sewn(and they weren't perfect lol), one being a pair of white jeans Luckily I had white thread though, so I guess it just blended in.
Okay question. I just did this to a pair of my black jeans and they turned out great :] I didn't use a sowing machine and you couldn't see where I hemmed it. I'm just wondering, if I hand sow on a pair of white pants will the thread show?
I think I need to learn how to sow first lol.. I kinda destroid my pants lol. They were old pants though that I havent worn in years lol.. So.. yeah,, And not my mom needs to fix her machine lol.. Oooppsy !! I'll try in another time.. :] Thanks anyway !
AwesomeNESS! ;D I did it after a couple of tries! make SURE you sew all the way up to the crotch area, otherwise you will have a bump where you finished sewing (halfway up the leg).
So glad this project is on here because i have a bunch of bell-bottoms in the bottom of my closet lol!
Update: Okay, I'm a boy--rough and tumble boy who happens to like sewing. Anyway, I ripped the pants in several places because we started jumping around on coaches and whatnot... But I'm going to redo them with JEANS as they were intended. But I found out that you can use the skinnies as a stencil for the new jeans.
I tried it and as a novice it was sooo easy and fast! I messed up on the left leg (my foot wouldnt go all the way through because I have some big feet -eyeroll- but it took 55 mins (timed).
Tip:I found that it was good if I sat down and used pins to test the comfortability and I hope that others would think to do that because they could look great and feel great when you're standing but sitting could be a #&*@! if you arent thinking about these things
Thats awesome! I've got to do that when I get my sewing machine [I would have hand sewn that a few years ago... but now... I am TOTALLY not that focused ] and thanks for the tut. I've been looking for some white skinny jeans to tie dye, but I can just get some old baggy white jeans !
awesome idea
just did them last night and my "new" jeans look great for the cost of pretty much $0!
one tip though, from my mum lol, when you cut off the excess jeans, in part 7, you might as well sow together the little excess flanges together using one of your special binding stitching patterns on your sowing machine, that way it makes the inside of your jeans more comfortable and will prevent those flanges from fraying
but other than that, thanks so much! i have new jeans!
thx you so much,

I can finally tailor some of my baggier jeans now, thanks !
it works! and its super easy!
Finally - buy for your own hips and waist and do the alter yourself. Even the skinny jeans in Canada aren't meant for size 12s!
O___o
Awsome tutorial :3
