  • How to make a tea towel. Shibori Inspired Dishtowels - Step 1
    Step 1

The last time I taught you how to bind your fabric to get different shibori inspired styles.

From left to right this are the results of Itajime technique (2 times), the Kanonko Binding Technique, the Kumo Folding and Binding Technique and last but not least another Kanoko Binding Technique.

  • Step 2

As you have already cutted the fabric to the dying process you only have to sew in the seam allowance at all sides.

  • Step 3

To get nice corners fold the fabric in the corner at a 45 degree angle. You will now have a bit to much fabric at this spot, so trim off the extra piece of fabric. Fold the seam allowance at the sides again and pin it at place.

  • Step 4

Move on with the other sides and corners and then you can finally sew your teatowels.
