Knit a geeky keyboard save key coin purse.
I'm not very good at writing knitting patterns, so I'm sorry if it doesn't entirely make sense in places - feel free to correct me and I'll fix it.

  • Step 1

    CO 40 stitches using white yarn.
    Knit in stockinette stitch for 6".
    End of after a knitted row.

    <u>Save Pattern</u>
    Row1: Purl 1 white, 2 black, 2 white, 1 black, 2 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 3 black and finish row in white.

    Row 2: Knit 24 white, 1 black, 3 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 2 white.

    Row 3: Purl 1 white, 2 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 3 black and finish row in white.

    Row 4: Knit 26 white, 1 black, 1 white, 3 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 2 white.

    Row 5: Purl 1 white, 2 black, 2 white, 1 black, 2 white, 1 black, 1 white, 1 black, 1 white, 3 black and finish row in white.

    Knit one more row.

    Step 4

    Take a length of white yarn and a yarn needle. Fold the knitted rectangle in half width ways and knit around the edges, leaving the top edge open.

    Take some white fabric and draw around the outline of the knitted purse so that it's twice the height but slightly shorter in width.

    Step 6

    Fold the fabric in half, so that it's half the height and sew a zip in along the top.

    (I used black thread because I was too lazy to rethread my machine, but you should probably use white).

    Sew down both open sides of the fabric to make a pouch.

    Place the pouch inside the knitted purse and stitch it in place by sewing along the top edge with the white yarn.

    Cut off any lose yarn and you're ready to go!

hehe in scotland do they say pearl or purl? ;] its so cool, you see spelling everywhere when things only mean one thing. pearl-purl-puhurl (never heard that one)
