Based on Pyrography Projects by Maladignia
Three more plates, decorated by focusing sunbeams through a magnifying glass.

Also some decorations in our garden. Some ivy on a fence pole and a butterfly on the shelf that supports the willow-branch roof.

The ivy took some careful planning because the pole was obviously not portable. So I could only work on it when the sun was at the right angle.

It takes quite some patience and you do need a very sunny day (no mist-like clouds). Here in the Netherlands our default weather is like autumn.. but some days can be beautiful. You should just never work on a deadline. ;-)

The designs are first sketched on with pencil and then I follow the lines with the focused sunbeams. But you could freehand it too. You just need steady hands.

I don't understand how can you make beautiful peices from just the sun and a magnifying glass?! I know the science just didn't think you would be able to control it very well or it would take days to do one bit. would it work in the UK cuz we don't get much sun? do you draw with it?
Fascinating!!
