But yeah, uncoated, polymer clay can cause MASSIVE infection. Its porous, which makes it a breeding ground for bacteria, and the moisture from your skin happily provides that bacteria. It also means that the dead skin from your ears is absorbed into the gauges .. So no matter how many times you scrub your ears and no matter how thoroughly. Your gauges still stink to high heaven! D:
I have a friend who works in body art that said the same thing... he helped me find the coating so that they are somewhat better... but Yah. Shoving anything into your body is a risk if you don't take care of it

That coating sounds interesting, glad u thought ahead! lol Theyre probably more safer now then they were. They look cool, i suck at marbling clay. lol
Im just tired of stupid kids shoving things in their ears & getting hurt (which i see a lot bc i work in the tattoo/body mod industry). Even those plastic plugs arent hygenic that people often buy.
Poly clay like this can actualy cause infections and can slowly deteriate the skin when placed in your stretched ears. Not the best material unfortunatly....
Nice, ive made these too. i should mention tho that these break easily, & u shouldnt wear them more then a few hours, as its unhygenic for your ears. & never in newly stretched ears.
