About
a touch of the Gothic for Halloween... or anytime
I found this awesome bloody manuscript ribbon at Michaels and had to do something with it... so a little blood-splattered jewelry to kick off Halloween a couple months early. The ribbon had this Edgar Allan Poe feel to it, so I went with a Victorian-looking cameo button (plastic, nothing fancy) and a little round elastic for the closure.
In addition to the ribbon, I used mostly scraps and bits of fabric (all of which was from the remnant bin, super cheap), cotton twill for the lining and some red target (like stiff utility fabric) to sew the ribbon pieces to. The black strip is a left over piece of hem tape.
May become part of an evil-Alice in Wonderland costume for this year if I have an occasion to wear a costume...
