A simple tutorial on how to transform a t shirt into a crop top, also with an added section on cutting the sleeves right off for a more edgy look. Can be done with any t shirt.
If you have an old t shirt that you're bored of, or it's getting hotter where you live, or you need some workout clothes, or you want to show off your midriff, then this is the project for you!

Step 1
Start off with your t shirt. I had a I<3NY top from my trip to NYC in February and I don't really wear it much as it's a bit baggy, so it was perfect for this.

Lie it out flat on your chosen work surface (mine: the floor...).
Step 2
Start cutting only on the front where you want the top to finish.

If you're not sure, try it on first and then mark where you'd like the top to finish.
Step 3
Keep cutting and eventually go round the back too.
Step 4
Your top should now look a bit like this.

Next, you can continue to carry on or you can leave it like this if you like the sleeves.

I think it creates a bit more of an edgy look without sleeves, so this is what i did...
Step 5
Take one of the sleeves and cut just before the seam leading up to where your underarm would be in the top.
Step 6
Then continue to cut just before the seam as you go across the side of the top.
Step 7
It should now look like this, and just continue to cut the rest off.
Step 8
Here is one sleeve done, then do the other!

The finished product.
