About
Save money instead of buying a new wall clock!
Ah... great... my cheap Ikea clock's face fell apart because of the heat and moist in my area, so the face kinda cracked badly.
So I figured that something like that isn't worth buying a whole new clock, I was pretty sure that somewhere out there in the internet is a tutorial on changing the face, espcially for Ikea Rusch Clock!
Check out Lady Lulu's site link below for more pictures or for more explaination!

Step 1
Remove battery to stop clock
There are 3 small clasp at the back. You can use your scissors to push the clasp open to remove the plastic cover. (Lady Lulu's site can show you where it is).
Mark on the inside where the clock hand points a number so later you know where the hand points when you align the numbers.
Remove (pull) the clock hands and set aside. -
Step 3
Let's start off with something semi-hard for the base.
For this project, I used an old magazine cover. I recommend using a white manila cardboard (hard construction paper) as I realized the magazine colors are visible on my wrapping paper...
Use the clock's plastic cover as a guide for the size.
Draw and cut out. -
Step 9
Snip, snip, cut, cut.
This part probably took the longest time to do that's why I suggest stickers!
Glue them according to the marking I mentioned in Step 1. Or you'll end up having the hand pointing not aligned to the time!
Oh, I almost forgot. You need to make a hole for the middle part to come through. Took me a while to get the hole size right.
Make sure the hole is not to small for the centerpiece, as that's where the clock hand are placed and it can't move if something is blocking it. -
Step 10
* You can add more decaration here if you like. Preferably the face base to be flat so the hour hand can pass over.
Put back the clock hand pieces in its place (hour/min/secound). Suggestion: you can bedazzle the hands I think, but not sure if they can pass through)
I didn't glue/double tape the base to the clock like Ikea did. That way I can easily remove it and give it a new face!
Put battery in to test the clock and make sure the hands can freely pass over your new clock face.
(Notice the area around my 3 is folded up? I needed to take out and retrim the sides)
