About
Marie's Light Fingers
OK. This is hardly anyone’s favorite recipe, but it’s
still important. A fixation with purple, a brush with
kleptomania, what else is there to say? A light
entrant, maybe, but also in some people’s opinion a
very tasty one

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 300F/150C/135C fan assisted/gas mark 2.
Line a baking tray with baking paper
Sift the flour and set aside. Separate the eggs into
large bowls
Add about half the superfine sugar to the egg yolks and beat
well until light, fluffy and pale in color -
Step 2
With an electric mixer, beat the egg whites in the second bowl,
adding the vinegar and continuing until stiff. Tip in the
remaining superfine sugar while slowly whisking until it
stands in soft peaks. This beats wiping someone’s ass, eh?
Pour the egg yolk mixture into the meringue and fold
carefully together until combined. Add the flour and
continue to fold gently until mixed, being careful not to lose
the air in the mix -
Step 3
Take your sister’s kids for the week
7 Put the mix into a large piping bag fitted with a ½1/2
inch/1.25cm plain nozzle and pipe fingers onto the prepared
baking sheet
8 Lightly push an almond onto the tip of each cake and dust with
a little sifted confectioners’ sugar
Take the kids for the week again
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until pale golden in color and firm to the touch.
Allow to cool completely on the baking sheet
Paint the nails with purple color
OK, it’s probably best if you just keep the kids, period
