A way to keep your kids precious artwork, look at it and use it every day
I saw a show with Machine Embroidery and wanted to try it. Instead of using stencils or patterns I wanted to use the kids drawings so they could be kept and looked at every day. Made a great Christmas present for there Nanna too :)
You Will Need

Step 1Get your creative and talented kids to draw a picture on a plain tea-towel with chalk or another removable pencil. By all means draw some yourself too!

Step 2Use a quilting or embroidery foot for your machine, something that allows you to move back and forward freely, then sew over the image, every crooked line and swirly flower :) I used a straight stitch to look more like the actual drawing

Step 3Once it is all stitched over, thats it! You may need to wash it to get the chalk lines off, and its a good idea to get them to sign it too. You can actually paint it with fabric paint if you want it coloured but I thought that would interfere with the effectiveness of the towel, if you are using it for a hanging by all means do it or get the kids to - the stitching makes it hard to go outside the lines.

Step 4Enjoy your keepsake, one last idea is to use the multicoloured thread when sewing, it would make it really cute and colourful!
