A way to protect your sunglasses and cute for holidays!
If you've seen my sunglasses photo frame you'll realise why I decided it was time to take better care of my sunglasses! So I made this; normally I don't use bright colours but I thought this bright red would be nice for holidays

  • How to make a button pouch. "Let The Sun Shine" Sunglasses Case - Step 1
    Step 1

This is what you'll need; to work out what size fabrics you'll need you'll need to get your sunglasses and cut around them in a rectangle. Cut out this rectangle in both types of fabric- one bit will be your lining.

Once you've cut your rectangles of fabric, hem the edges to get rid of raw edges. I hand sewed it but you can use the machine if you wish.

    Step 3

Before you sew the fabric in to a pouch, decorate the front to your taste. I embroidered a sun in the corner and "Let the sun shine" but you could applique beach huts or sandcastles etc

When you've done this fold the fabric in half and sew up both the long sides to make a pouch, do this with the lining fabric as well.

    Step 5

You can just use a normal button but I couldn't find one that I really liked for this project so I covered a shank button in some scrap fabric. Cut a circle of fabric double the size of the button then hand sew a running stitch around the edge, leave the needle in and pull the thread tight and put the button in the middle and secure in place, sew the button on to the outer fabric and then twist a long bit of scrap fabric to make a fastening.

    Step 6

Leave the lining fabric inside out and drop it in to the outer fabric which needs to be right way out then sew along the top to secure.

    Step 7

Hand sew any loose stitching and gaps and trim any long threads. Ta-dah- cute little sunglasses case for holidays :)
