About
Lace, shoes, upcycled, upholstered
I had these old wedge shoes forever and I never wore them! When my mom gave me her old lace curtains, I came up with this idea.
Sorry I don't have more pictures! I kinda just winged this project, but it's real easy to figure out.

You Will Need
-
Step 2
Hot glue a line all along the edge of the shoe.
*Don't add hot glue all over the shoe because lace is sensitive and it might melt or turn yellow*
Fold a the end of the lace under (like a hem line or fold a large piece in half to double the lace design) so it doesn't fray on the ground and place the fold on the glue line.
You should now have a length of fabric hanging off your shoe.
-
Step 3
Keep adding lines of glue around the bottom of the shoe and gluing on the lace until the whole FRONT of the shoe is covered. Wait to do the back.
Cut an oval out of the lace where it covers the opening of the shoe. Make sure you can fit your foot in it! Then glue down the lace into the
inside.(Don't worry! You won't be able to see these lace edges inside it when you're wearing them)
-
Step 4
Now the back! I folded the lace in again (like you do for the bottom of the shoe)on both sides so you have a crease where they meet.
Fold the extra pieces over the top and glue down on the inside.
I added a bow to decorate the back too.
To make the bow, fold a scrap of lace horizontally and glue together on the back. Take another SMALLER scrap of lace and wrap it vertically around the middle of the long piece so it cinches it into a bow. Glue and you're done!
