  Change to 4mm needles and proceed as foll:

  Row 1: K9 [10, 11, 12, 13], P3, work cable panel A over next 6 sts, work cable panel B over next 14 sts, work cable panel C over next 6 sts, P3,K9 [10, 11, 12, 13].

  Row 2: P9 [10, 11, 12, 13], K3, work cable panel C over next 6 sts, work cable panel B over next 14 sts, work cable panel A over next 6 sts, K3, P9 [10, 11, 12, 13].

  The last 2 rows set position of cable panels and st st. Shape sides of sleeves by inc 1 st at each end of next and every foll 12th row until there are 58 [62, 66, 70, 74] sts, taking extra sts into st st.
  Cont straight until work measures 24 [28, 31, 36, 39] cm, ending with a ws row.

  Shape sleeve top
  Keeping patt correct, cast off 3 sts at beg of next 4 rows then 2 sts at beg of next 4 [8, 10, 14, 14] rows then dec 1 st at each end of next and every foll rs row until 20 sts rem. Work 1 row. Cast off.

• Step 6

  LEFT FRONT BORDER
  With rs facing and starting from the neck edge, using 3.75mm needles, pick up and K98 [102, 106, 110, 114] sts.
  Row 1: P2, *K2, P2, rep from * to end.
  Row 2: K2, *P2, K2, rep from * to end.
  The last 2 rows form rib, work a further 7 rows. Cast off in rib.

• Step 7

  RIGHT FRONT BORDER
  With rs facing and starting at lower edge, using 3.75mm needles, pick up and K98 [102, 106, 110, 114] sts. Row 1: P2, *K2, P2, rep from * to end.
  Row 2: K2, *P2, K2, rep from * to end.
  The last 2 rows form rib, work a further 3 rows.
  Buttonhole row: rib to last 38 [38, 42, 42, 42] sts, cast off next 2 sts, *rib 13 [13, 15, 15, 15], cast off next 2 sts, rep from * once more, rib to end.
  Next row: Rib, casting on 2 sts over the cast off 2 sts on previous row. Work 2 rows in rib. Cast off in rib.

• Step 8

  TO MAKE UP
  Join shoulder seams.
  COLLAR
  With rs facing and using 3.75mm needles pick up and K106 [114, 118, 122, 130] sts evenly around neck edge, starting halfway across right front border and ending halfway across left hand border.
  Row 1: P2, (K2, P2) to end.
  Row 2: K2, (P2, K2) to end.
  The last 2 rows form 2x2 rib.
  Work a further 8 rows.
  Change to 4mm needles and work a further 11 rows as set. Cast off neatly in rib.
  TO MAKE UP
  Sew in sleeves. Join side and sleeve seams. Sew on buttons top correspond with buttonholes.
