This is really great. I saw a similar project on another site a while ago. This is better. ^_^

i've seen this book too! it's awesomesauce! you make your own pattern using a non-stretchy top and sketch out each piece. then you cut it out of the pants as it shows above, then stitch the pieces together... after seeing this i had to check the book out myself... and there's other groovy things you can do too!
