Beautiful Heart Door Decoration
Very Easy. You start by cutting out a large heart shape 17" by 15".
Cover the cardboard with polyester quilt batting by securing it on the back with hot glue. Leave a hole so you can put some polyfil stuffing in the front of the heart almost like stuffing a pillow. Cut out a large enough shape out of some fabric and glue that on the back also. This is the part that isn't that easy because it's a heart shape. A circle or square would be easier. Mine isn't perfect but it doesn't really matter. Okay, then take a second fabric and make a pocket on the bottom half of the heart as seen in the pictures. Secure on the back with hot glue. Now for the little hearts on the chenille stems (pipecleaners we used to call them). I used some of the foam sheets and hearts that you get at the craft store. I also cut out some hearts from the fabric I chose. These need to be stiffened up somehow by gluing on cardstock or heavy felt. Then cut out the hearts, glue to the pipecleaners, and stick in the pocket of the heart. I added homemade envelopes but any Valentines would be cute, too. Best wishes. Take a second fabric and make a pocket on the lower half of the heart. Just fold the fabric over so there is no raw edge at the top of the pocket.

Cut out hearts either from the fabric or foam hearts you get at craft stores would be fine, too. I used some glittery foam ones as well as the fabric hearts I cut out of the fabric I chose to cover the heart. glue onto the pipecleaners and pop those into the pocket.

Put some valentines into the pocket also. I hot glued some fabric on the back so that you don't see the cardboard if anyone peeks back there. Glue a hanger on the back and it's done. Enjoy, I'm enjoying mine.

This is a wonderful idea and looks great. It would be nice a mail holder all year round, not just for valentines day.
