Based on Hama Bead Portraits by Britta J.
Well, I said I would, so here is my larger attempt at a hama bead portrait! I went to the other extreme and did a close-up. The second image shows the original photo that was working from. I took it into Photoshop, cropped it, used 'mosiac' on it to get it into lots of little squares and messed round with the colour and curves until it was bright enough to suit my bright beads. I would have loved to have some greys and more subtle colours though - anyone know where to buy different coloured beads?

I got a package of perler beads from Michaels that was originally a set for building pets. I can't remember the exact name of the set - but it had tons of grays, blacks, browns and various shades thereof. Maybe worth checking out. I happen to love all the colours you put in yours though. Terrific job!
