• 

  Step 1

  First, find a pair of shoes you would be willing to destroy without regret. I'm sure this project would work for quite a few different types of shoes.... O_o

• 

  Step 2

  You will want to remove the laces if any before cutting the shoe so you can be able to hold the piece steady while your sawing through parts of the shoe...
  take your razor ( and Be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when handling a razor!!! O_O) and start slicing the sides and tongue part off the shoes...

  Step 3

  When thats finished, have the two side pieces laying down facing each other like this...

  Step 4

  Take one of your shoe laces and start lacing them from the bottom up...

• 

  Step 5

  ...

  Step 6

  When you reach the top, tie your bow then flip it over and place the tongue of the shoe like so (as seen in the image)

• 

  Step 7

  Get out that needle and thread and start sewing the shoes tongue on... (why do they call it a tongue anyways? O_o)

  Step 8

  It should look like this when finished

  Step 9

  Wrap it around your arm and fasten it with a safety pin like this...
  (sorry this looks sloppy)

  Here ya go! this is what it looks like when done. :D

I've pinched my other half's old leather boots to do this. I'm gonna sew the tongue to it and use the laces to tie it. I just hope I can go through the leather with my needle and finger strength. I sense a thimble being of use!
