• 

  Step 1

  Start by rolling your polymer clay flat, about 1/8th of an inch thick.

  Step 2

  Lay your pattern on the clay, then cut around the pattern. Don't touch the clay too much - every time you touch it you'll leave a mark.

  Now's the time to preheat your oven to 275 degrees!

  Step 3

  Poke two holes towards the top of your clay pendant. Make sure the holes are large enough to feed your jump rings through.

  Bake your pendant on a piece of aluminum foil on a pan for 10 minutes.

  Step 4

  While your pendant is baking, measure your chain. If your necklace will be hanging closer to your neck, you'll need to attach a clasp. Mine is hanging around my ribcage, so there's no need for a clasp since it's so long.

  Step 5

  Open up your jump rings!

  Once your 10 minutes of baking is up, take your pendant out of the oven & let it cool (a few minutes).

  Step 6

  Painting time! Gold leaf if pretty pungent, so I painted mine outside.

  When your pendant is dry, feed the open jump rings through your two holes. Attach the ends of the chain through the rings, then gently close the jump rings with your pliers.
