So European. Hang a string of garlic and other cooking delights in your kitchen for an aesthetic and handy utensil.
I've always wanted one for my kitchen and you can imagine my delight when I found a little deli on a back street that sold them. However they cost £30 so I went to the supermarket and spent no more than £3 on ingredients and materials and made one myself.

You Will Need

Step 1Cut yourself 9 lengths of strings about a meter long and tie them together with a knot at one end.

Step 2Hold the pieces of string in groups of 3 and braid as if you were braiding hair.

Step 3Every so often tie a knot leave about a fingers width of string and then knot again to create little loops. These will be what you tie the garlic to later.

Step 4Braid to the end and finish off with a knot at the bottom.

Step 5Make 2 more of these.

Step 6Tie them together with a knot at one end.

Step 7Braid these together like you did in the first part. Don't try to make loops with these it would be far too difficult.

Step 8Find some garlic with longs stalks.

Step 9Tightly tie the string around the garlic until it is secure. Leave long tails at either side of the knot.

Step 10Using the tails on the garlic knot secure the garlic to the string. Place the stalk through one of the loops you made and tie the tails at either side.

Step 11Be creative with your composition of vegetables. Add chillies and onions if you like. These will dry up after a few weeks and will be delicious for cooking (or daring your friends to eat raw).

Step 12Hang your completed string in your kitchen next to a window that gets a lot of light. This will help dry out your vegetables and garlic quicker.
