• 

  Step 1

  For this project, you'll need a pair of white Converse shoes and a Blue, Black, Pink, Purple & Black Sharpie pen.

• 

  Step 2

  Take out the laces and place to one side. Starting with the black Sharpie, begin colouring along the bottom of the fabric on the shoe.

• 

  Step 3

  Create a gradient by colouring above the black with dark blue.

• 

  Step 4

  Using a pipette, drop a few drops of rubbing alcohol onto the ink and watch the colours blend and expand into the white of the shoe.

• 

  Step 5

  Once you've got the hang of this process, begin introducing new colours into your design in a similar way. It's best to stick to the edges at first.

• 

  Step 6

  Keep going.

• 

  Step 7

  Continue colouring and blending until you've covered the whole shoe.

• 

  Step 8

  Repeat on the second shoe.

• 

  Step 9

  Leave to dry.

• 

  Step 10

  Grab some black fabric paint and a painting sponge.

• 

  Step 11

  Use the sponge to gently dab black fabric paint around the designs int he darkest areas, creating a starburst gradient design.

• 

  Step 12

  Continue until you're happy and then leave to try.

• 

  Step 13

  Finally add dots of sparkly silver fabric paint all over the shoes to look like stars.

• 

  Step 14

  Repeat with the second shoe and then leave to dry.

• 

  Step 15

  Pop your laces back in and they're ready to wear!
