Step 1Start with a square of fabric large enough to go around both books twice.

Step 2Lay your books toward two of the corners, and fold those corners up and over each book. Tuck the tails in under the books for neatness and stability. Ignore my knee, again.

Step 3Flip each book in toward the center. If the books are small or the fabric is large you can put an extra flip in. You just need a little space between them.

Step 4pull the two remaining corners across the gap to the opposite sides. It'll be loose, don't worry.

Step 5Here comes the magic! Flip the two books together, like you're closing one big book. You can see that my tails are uneven here - and that's not a big deal.

Step 6wind the tails up a little and tie a square knot at the tips. Tada! You have a supercute handbag that's actually your trashy novels or nursing reference books!
