Feeling All Flirty Skirty

Based on McCall's M5591 pattern
I started making this skirt last year, but I (shamefully) lost interest in it. When I decided to revisit it, I wasn’t sure why I picked the fabric because it was a bit mumsy, so I decided to make a few changes to make it more youthful. I made the waistband pillar box red to contrast with the cream and navy floral print, and abandoned the suggested band around the hemline to keep it short. I’m delighted with how the skirt’s turned out. I’m so pleased I went for the red waistband (using the floral print for the inside yoke facings) and zip, they help liven up the print.
