An easy project to jazz up your old Filofax
My Filofax is the Urban Filofax in Pocket Size. I’ve had it for a while now and it’s seen better days, so I decided to jazz it up!

*** Please note before you begin, my Filofax (in urban style) is fabric, so sewing into the fabric would be a lot easier than if you were attempting this tutorial with a leather Filofax ***

    Step 1

Take some fabric of your desired print and trace around your Filofax using dressmakers chalk. Leave about 3cm round the edges so you've got some fabric to work with.

Next cut a strip out of the fabric where the strap is. Just cut the size of the strap up to where it meets the Filofax edge. Sew this strip down giving a 5mm seam and then cut the excess off.

Place your Filofax onto the fabric and fold over the edges. Sew the top edges down (it might be easier to use pins as markers and move your Filofax out of the way for this part). When you sew, try go into the fabric of the Filofax to make your cover nice and secure.

Now place your Filofax into the cover and sew down the bottom seams. Cut off any excess fabric.

(I strayed a bit with my fabric which is why I have a very small seam at the bottom!)

Make a small incision over the button popper with some scissors. You can always glue the hole if you’re worried about it fraying – but wait till it dries before you close it!
