the wicked witch has nothing on dorohty
Sorry for the red ey I'm no expert at that.
I had a costume party coming up and once again went into a blind panic. Being an Oz fan I thought on my feet with a D.I.Y dorothy. The blue gingham fabric is super cheap and easy to find. I bought a white blouse from a charity shop and for ruby slippers try using red pumps and go crazy with glitter glue.To make the skirt you will need about 3 metres. stitch the side make a tube across the waist band and thread a peice of elastic through. then for the pinafore stich a sqaure and add on to long straps from excess gingham.add on some giant novelty buttons on the front too for effect and use excess to make hair ribbons. could not find a black dog for to to so he is a white scotty sadly. Its a great party peice. So bring on the wicked witch.

yeh the white scottie dog was a beanie baby.I think charity stores are a treasure trove for craft and I love them.I couldnt find a blue dress though and I am now studying textiles at school so I figured I better practise. I Love dorothy and its such a great versitile costume.

My 3 year old was Dorothy this past halloween. I bought just a blue gingham dress from good will, wal mart had real shoes in her size with red sequins, and a basket and dog from another thrift store. Her Toto was a black poodle beanie baby.
