well the chalk board is a cool idea but not a safe one. much better to remove the glass and use chalkboard paint on sheetrock cut to fit the frame .or any other kind of wood even foam board would be a better choice, one coat of chalkboard paint either spray or brush type requires more than one coat up to five coats is best letting it dry 2 to 4 hours in between coats using sheet rock and multiple layers is not only safer but will last you a life time.one coat will scratch chip and fade over time and use
