Use 2 strands of yarn together throughout pattern

    TOP PIECE

ROW 1: With dark brown, ch 13, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each rem ch,
    ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
ROWS 2-35: Work even on 12 sc. Do not fasten off after row 35. Slightly turn work to continue working down first long side for finishing round. This will be right side of work. Now begin with 1 sc in the end of row 35, which is actually the same stitch as last sc made. Next work 1 sc in the ends of the next 34 rows, 1 sc across the next 11 sts of first short end, 1 sc in the end of next 34 rows of second long side, then 1 sc across each 12 sc of row 35, join to first sc with sl st, fasten off.

    STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM SECTION

ROW 1: Work in Back Loops Only (BLO) for this row. With right side of top piece facing, hold completed piece up with short ends at left and right sides. Now count back 11 sts from the top left corner stitch. Attach pink yarn, in back lps only with sl st in 11th stitch, 1 sc in same stitch, 1 sc in of next 11 sts, 1 sc in next 11 sts across short end, 1 sc in next 11 sts. Mark last stitch for correct stitch placement to be used. Ch 1, turn. (34 sts)
ROWS 2-7: Work even on 34 sc, fasten off.

NOTE: Front unused loops formed by row 1 will be used to work a round of Basic edging after all ice cream sections are complete.

    CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM SECTION
Hold top piece up as for strawberry section, but with unfinished end at left hand side. Count back 11 sts from corner st as before and attach med. brown yarn in BLO of 11th st. Mark last st of row 1 as for strawberry. Continue working as for strawberry section for all 7 rows.

    VANILLA ICE CREAM SECTIONS

NOTE: If you should have one less or one extra stitch on row 1, decrease or increase as needed for correct number of stitches. This will make no difference in the outcome of finished piece.

ROW 1: Return to last marked st on strawberry section on row 1. Attach white yarn with a sl st in BLO of next st after the marked st on top piece, sc in same st and in back lps of next 11 sts, ch 1, turn. (12 sc)
ROWS 2-7: Work even on 12 sc. Using a single strand of yarn, sew ends of finished vanilla section to chocolate and strawberry ends. Now return to marked last stitch on chocolate section and attach white yarn in next stitch after this stitch on top piece and work same as vanilla section just completed. After vanilla sections are finished, attach dark brown yarn in any unused front loop on top piece and work a round of basic edging.

    BOTTOM PIECE

Work same as for top piece, working a round of basic edging in front loops only of finishing round. Now sew bottom piece to top piece, sewing through the unused back loops only on bottom piece. Stuff pillow before closing.

If you actually decide to use this pillow in a functional way, it is a longer and more narrow pillow and will support the head nicely!
