Simple and Effective Way to Display Your Cake!
I made this cake stand using a candle stick which I decoupaged with wrapping paper and a plate which I decoupaged with vintage magazine adverts. I glued them together with araldite glue and hey presto!

I have a question about the sealant, is satin varnish a food safe sealant or do I need something between the cake and the plate- such as a doily? I'm concerned about grease from the cake staining the platter. Thank you!!!
