What if you don't have an oven? Are microwaves okay?

That sounds really neat for mugs or decorative plates. I wonder how food safe the ink, even baked, would be...?

In my experience, sharpie pens are not very permanent, even on plastic.

Does it have to be a sharpie marker? Or can it be any permanent marker? And do you think the sharpie rub a dub marker would work?

maybe you didn't bake it long enough? I don't know, just guessing...

Most likely not dishwasher safe. Since ceramics are generally baked at much higher temperatures in kilns above 180 degrees, a high heat wash in a dishwasher would wear away the artwork. Probably best to handwash your wares.

Does the baking working on glass, like a mason jar?

Potentially the only risk I would think of is the glass not being heat safe and shattering. Proceed with caution!

Have you had any problems with this method? My wife has a Doctor Who picture mug of 'her' Doctor, and she's going to be seeing him at a con in Feb, so I suggested getting him to sign it, but I don't want to ruin the mug
