Dia' de los Muertos mermaid inspired by Mexican legend.
This 4X7inch painting is acrylic on canvas and sealed with a clear coat of sealant to protect the canvas and brighten the colors. The last picture is the most accurate color description, sorry for the glare.

I was inspired to paint this mermaid after reading about the Mexican folklore that involves a young girl being turned into a mermaid while at the top of a volcano. She was forced to remain inside the crater of the volcano where there was a pool of water. For the full story click the link below.
