I did my bookmark on a plastic ruler. It fell off a little bit but when it dried it looked fine. I also put a pencil in the whole of the ruler so I could put the string through it. I also added buttons to the ends of the strings on mine.

Its SO easy!! all you do is color your plastic, or what ever you are going to put the glue on (I used a ruler) with markers, NOT permanent, and when it dries it is in your bookmark!
