My hsband made a version of these on Easter Sunday. He made ordinary spnge fairy cakes, iced them with belgian choc buttercream icing then made mini nests with shredded wheat and melted Mars Bars then... popped a chocolate egg in! They were SICKLY SWEET but AMAZING!! :o)

I made these for easter today and they ended up really cool, ialso drizzled them with white choc. to add more flavor and they were a big hit!

i made mine with coconut instead of the wheat stuff. i'd post a picture, but they where eaten quiet quickly.

Yes they do harden, I don't usually keep them in the cases either.

A friend just shared this with me, and I just shared this idea with aother friend. Very cute.
But not just for springtime! Summertime ~ fill with fresh strawberries and add a dollop of freshly whipped cream. What a wonderful blend of flavors and textures! Winter holidays ~ fill with glistening sugar gum drops and add a few whole cashews. Autumn ~ black and orange jelly beans. I can't wait!
