Checkers & Flower Hair Clip

Simple, Cute, and Basically Free
I took some checkered ribbon, but because it was only printed on one side, I doubled it over and hot-glued it. That also made it sturdy. I then cut it to the same length as a large flexy hair clip.

Then I hot-glued a small flower embellishment on the side. It is light pink with a ring of pearls and a small rhinestone in the middle. I purchased a package of these at a craft store but you could just as easily make one yourself. You can add any kind of accent, like a button, a charm, or some silk flowers.

The contrast of styles and patterns seems to really work so I wear it proudly. It's not perfect but I love it!
