Meeeow: Cat Ears!
Halloween Kitty Cat Ears! I got my costume together kind of last minute since two other costume ideas kind of fell through, so I went hunting store to store for some kitty ears and I couldn't find anything! I was planning on wearing alot of patent leather-so the electrical tape ears worked.

  • Step 1

First gather your materials: two pieces of wire (a foot long works but be sure to save the scraps for other projects.) Longer works better for how I bent it.
Then a plain, black, thinner head band. And black electrical tape. That's it!

  • How to make an ear / horn. Cat Ears. - Step 2
    Step 2

Take the wire and bend it in half (with your hands is easiest I found.) But do not crease it hard. You want it to form a soft U or V shape. That do the same with the other wire.

  • Step 3

Next, take the wire, bend it again, the same way; about 2-4 inches away from the first U/V shape you made. (The farther away you bend, the bigger the ears will be.) Keep in mind that we will be adding tape so that will allow the outside of the ears to expand but the open middle of ears to be a much smaller opening. So whatever you perfer.

    Step 4

Lay the wire pieces on top of eachother to compare and to achieve similiar sizes. Do the same bending on the other side of the first U/V shape you made.

  • Step 5

Then, cut the extra wire off with a wire cutters. Next, get out your black electrical tape.

    Step 6

Take the triangles you have formed and begin to wrap tape around them. You will just have to work the tape as you go. It may get a little screwed up so you may have to wrap and unwrap a bit, manuevering around the corners. Also another tip would be to cut the tape if you need to, and begin again. Just keep going until you have reached your desired thickness.

  • How to make an ear / horn. Cat Ears. - Step 7
    Step 7

When you have finished each ear, figure out where you wish to place them on your head band. Grab the electrical tape and wrap it around the triangle and the base of band tightly. It will stay in place.

    And that's it!
