Costumes for big kids
This is Jade, who wanted to go dressed as Rukia Kuchiki from the Japanese anime Bleach. The only thing I didn't make from scratch was the black hakama (trousers), as before this, I could barely stitch a button on. ;)

Then there's Becky who decided she wanted to go dressed as Boudicca, the kick-ass Queen of the Iceni. Everything was hand-made, the design was freehand painted (by me, I'm just full of talent lol).

Becky won Best Costume for her class, but Jade didn't because they said it was too well-made to be a home-made one. On one hand I'm chuffed, on the other I'm not :D

And I've now got a bug for sewing things together where before, I did cross-stitch and that was it. Jade's was made from a double white sheet and a single black sheet, and Becky's was from two old blankets and a belt I bought in a charity shop for 50p. If I get round to it, I hope to add a tut since I found it so easy. ^_^
