  • How to make a beaded animal. Beaded Gecko - Step 1
    Step 1

Gather up your stuff and decide on colors to use. You'll need 24 or so seed beads of your main body color and around 20 of the foot/belly color, and 2 for the eyes. You don't hafta use 2 different colors for the body... I just didn't have enough green. You can either match your floss to the color of your beads (which I couldn't) or just use something that sorta goes... You'll definitely need two needles, though.

  • How to make a beaded animal. Beaded Gecko - Step 2
    Step 2

Separate your floss strands down to 2 and thread a needle on either side and thread up one of your body beads to the center.

    Step 3

String up 2 more of the same beads on the right needle

    Step 4

Go back through the beads the other way with the left needle

    Step 8

Add 2 body beads the same way next, then 2 more.

    Step 9

String a body bead, then 4 of the other color on the right needle

  • How to make a beaded animal. Beaded Gecko - Step 10
    Step 10

With the SAME needle skip over the first 3 beads and thread back through the last two

  • How to make a beaded animal. Beaded Gecko - Step 11
    Step 11

Sinch down towards the body of the gecko. Repeat on the other side with the left needle

    Step 12

Follow this pattern until you reach the end of the tail and tie an overhand knot at the end.

    Step 13

You can either leave the strings on and make a necklace or trim them off

Having the same problem as Katie and Krystyl. I tried it several times and with different kinds of threads. Same scrunched-together result each time. I'm hoping beating wire will work better. It's so cute!

Hmm, I never learned how to make these as a kid, so I'm having some difficulty, when I try to putt the string tight, the beads roll under each other, making a big mess, ... I guess I'll keep trying, but it's soo frustrating >.<
