I doon't have this problem, but yuo could cover them with varnish for protection

This is such a great use for acorn tops. I use them as hats for miniature people. I'm so glad to see a new use for them.

Genius! Now is not the right season for acorns, though. Hopefully I'll find some when the snow eases away. Otherwise, I'll have to wait until autumn to try this. I'm a huge fan of buttons. I can go to second hand stores and just sit and look at buttons forever. <3
