How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I discovered CO+K about 4 years ago, and I was instantly addicted! I’d just moved into my first home with my partner Sean- the flat was a complete blank canvas and we we’re broke, so initially CO+K really inspired me to start upcycling. I then discovered the craft swaps on CO+K and this quickly became my new favourite thing to do, I bought a sewing machine a few months later and haven’t stopped craft binging since!

What projects are you currently working on?

I’ve just started a small business. Its called “Madame Fusspot’s Travelling Tea Party” and we provide English Afternoon Tea Parties and Murder Mystery Parties that travel to your home. We provide a bespoke decorations and favours service too, so at the moment, my crafting life is dedicated to making favours and decorations for client tea parties! At the moment I’m working on some bunting made from book pages.

What does your craft space look like?

It’s a corner in our spare room…its my happy place. I try to keep it neat and ordered but it always seems to look a mess! I wanted it to be fun and bright and inspiring. Its now also filled with vintage teacups and teapots for my business, so it’s a little cramped!

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

My lovely red John Lewis sewing machine, it’s so handy! I taught myself to use it only a few years ago, it’s the first and only sewing machine I’ve owned so it’s quite dear to me.

What do you craft along to?

I generally listen to broadway show tunes, Disney songs, or 60’s Motown when I’m crafting- it just makes me happy!

Favorite Craft

My favourite things to make are items for other people. I love giving gifts, and its even more fun and satisfying to make something from scratch for someone. My favourite things to make are cakes and sweets (because they’re delicious!) but like to try new types of crafts as much as possible.

Hayley's Top Crafts

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

Crochet- I’ve tried picking it up a few times, but struggle to not make a tangled mess! I’m taking a workshop in September and am determined to keep trying- I WILL make a granny square!

Who are your crafting heroes?

Kirstie Allsop is my crafting idol- I love watching her shows and love how she’ll give anything a go. I also love Martha Stewart, and a Mary Berry recipe has never steered me wrong!
