Foam ear plugs help me to stay asleep, it's weird how you don't realize how much ambient noise there is until you get rid of it. As for falling asleep, I'll take tips too! Sometimes I'll be so tired then as soon as my head hits the pillow I'll remember things I meant to do and forgot or I'll start thinking about everything I need to do the next day. It can be quite a struggle
I've been doing a bit of card making lately and thought I'd see what kind of color combinations people like. Being born in the 80's I still have an odd leftover fascination with neons and rainbow everything (Thanks Rainbow Brite lol) but I thought a change was due.
What colors do you enjoy or use a lot?
I really like making jewelry with resin and have sampled a few different kinds but I was curious to see if any other resin crafters had a favorite brand or type (epoxy, polyester) resin to use and what type of crafts do you make with it?
Hi, I'm Emily from Colorado! I've been around for awhile but have never posted before... I love arts and crafting I dabble in a wide variety of things from resin and polymer clay to crochet and paper crafting. I'm glad to be a part of COandK!
http://chocochichi.com/category/cookies/ has a recipe (almost at the bottom of the page) using Versawhip 600 to replace the eggs. I haven't tried it but, from the instructor aspect, if it can make those piped pine trees and hold the shape it should be able to pipe all of the royal icing flowers taught by Wilton. A possible exception would be the royal icing lilies which use a cup-like former instead of a standard flower nail and need to be extremely firm to remove. Hope this helps Good luck!
Wilton meringue powder contains pasteurized powdered egg whites (albumin) making it unsuitable for vegans and those with egg allergies. I am both a vegan and a former Wilton instructor- I prefer the BBC recipe from http://hoppobumpo.blogspot.com/2008/12/great-eggless-royal-icing-experiment.html While it is not the same consistency and does not dry hard like ceramic (more like a "set" sand sculpture- it will dry and hold shape but crumbles under too much pressure) it does manage to make the more simple piped shapes, like dots and stars, and it does hold gingerbread houses together. Hopes this helps and to Gnot Just Gnomes I hope your vegan friend either doesn't find out or is very forgiving
