  Step 1

  After I decided what I wanted to do to the bag I got all my supplies together. The first step is to clean the leather. I used acetone , with rags I did not mind throwing away. If you are using real leather this is ok, if you are painting a synthetic material use scrubbing bubbles or something that will really clean everything off of the material. Any oil or dirt will not allow the paint to adhere to the materials.

  Step 2

  Once clean and dry, I started with the lighter parts, the bottom and lil tabs that hold the handles on. I didn't do the handles because one of them was broken so I had to fix it before I painted them. The paint I use is Jacquard Lumiere. It is amazing, if applied correctly, it will not peel, crack, or rub off.

  Step 3

  this is the base color I chose for the main part of the bag. It is Lumiere Pewter

  Step 4

  Ok, now the imaginative part comes into to place. I used Lumiere paints on these also with the one stroke painting method (at least I think thats what its called). I just started painting random flowers all over the bag, with pictures (heart and skull) mixed in. The Paint, is very easy to work with. Just be sure your initial coat is completely dry

  Step 5

  This is one side of the purse complete, as you can see the handle is busted off , yeah I still need to fix at this point.

  Step 6

  This is the other side of the purse. I fixed the handle with E6000 glue... I love that glue, I swear by it! The handles have been painted, and I have sealed the entire purse with Americana Sealer. The Jacquard paint wont come off, I just like taking precautions against bumps and possible gouging of the material or paint. I am clumsy and trip, run into and fall all the time. So, here is the finished project. My belief, art is art no matter how good or awful. If you like it, it does not matter what anyone else thinks...... Let me know if you have any questions....

Ya I know I get it im sorry its just that anything like that is special to me because I have never had any name brand things and the people who do come across them at a thrift shop are lucky so sorry

oh, if you lived in Tampa, FL I could teach you how to shop at a Thrift store.. It is all about patience and really looking!!!!! I LOVE thrift stores and the dirtier the store the better, thats where you find amazing stuff. No one really goes into them so, you find OUTSTANDING STUFF!!!

I am confused by your comment, what was the purpose of it? I am not trying to be mean, as I feel that was your intent. I just do not understand what the purpose was, I could give a rats butt about who the purse was made by. I just happen to like the style of the one I found and LV brown leather is ugly and if I had not purchased the bag for less than $10.00, I would have NEVER purchased it. In my description of materials needed , I stated "UGLY purse that needs refashioned", Not run out and find a designer purse you think you are going to ruin if you create a piece of art on it. "This is just me saying" It's about creativity, recycling and repurposing!

Funny you should say that, I have only been painting for about 4 years, I am self taught. It is amazing the things you learn to do when you are in a marriage that is pretty much over. I give credit to my divorce for my talent! ha!!!
