DIY Pasties
A Crafty Striptease: Pasties Tutorial
Every girl needs a set of pasties, whether they are interested in Burlesque, or just want to wow their honey-buns with a hot striptease! I'm Danielle Spires, my stage name is 'Randi Kittens', and I'm going to show you how to make a very fast and easy set of pasties. There are several ways of making them, but I will show you how to the most simple style that allows for crazy and imaginative adornments. At the end of the steps I will give you quick pointers on alternative ways of making pasties if you want to add on tassels or fabric.
First off, do you have any grand ideas? This is the most important part of pastie making. Let your imagination go and think of the perfect pasties! Maybe you want to match them to some undies you have? Or maybe to a costume? Or just let your imagination flow and see what happens! One of my personal favorites is the google-eyed cats I made for a 'Randi Kittens' show.
A major part of crafting is spending time at your fave craft or fabric store. Look for rhinestones, rolls of sequins, fake flowers, google eyes, pipe cleaners, glitter, pom-poms, fur, appliques or whatever catches your eye. If you're lookin' to twirl, pick up some tassels and grommet maker. Most importantly, buy a hot glue gun! Clear sticks of glue are best.
Let's get down to it. Find a nice space where you can spread everything out, and obviously, put down wax paper to catch any dripping glue. Time to get a goin'!
My expertise in craftiness comes from Love Las Muertas Jewelry, my #1 passion in life.
Visit Love Las Muertas and find yourself some jewelry to match those pasties! My burlesque name is 'Randi Kittens', and I can be seen takin' it off at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret in Denver, CO. Also check out Michelle Baldwin's book 'Burlesque and the New Bump-n-Grind', which is a fantastic read.
