Are you a begining knitter, but you want to make something super cute? Try this out!
I made this for a friend. It's super simple and easy to make. You can even embellish it with a bow or flower. Since I used a smaller yarn, it took me about 4 hours to make, I finished it while watching Ghost Busters. Use a larger yarn and bigger needle to work quicker!

PLEASE post your versions! I would LOVE to see them!!

You can easily convert this to loom knitting, too. Just loom your hat until you desired length and then crochet cast off and follow the rest of step 3!

  • Step 1

Using the knit cast on, cast on as many stitches that you need to make the size hat you need. I used Red Heart Super Saver and a size 10 needle, so I cast on about 80-90 stitches for an adult size.

    LOOM KNIT:
Start loom knitting the length of your brim.

  • Step 2

Join the round, purl one row, knit one row, purl one row and knit until the 'tube' can cover your dome.
You can make the band as big or little as you like. Feel free to use 1x1 or 2x2 ribbing or any other decorative stitch.

    LOOM KNIT:
Make your brim and keep going until it fits your head.

  • Step 3

Bind off, it doesn't matter how.
Turn the 'tube' inside out and lay it flat. Sew up the flat bind off edge, weave in tail.

    LOOM KNIT:
Crochet cast off, Turn the 'tube' inside out and lay it flat. Sew up the flat bind off edge, weave in tail.
