Celebrate the holiday by making a personalized ornament
This project was made 13 years ago when my son was a tot and he always liked to check it every year to see how much his hand had grown.

I just rolled a block of Sculpey clay into a a circle and he pressed his hand into the back, used a straw to make the hole to hang it on the wall, then baked it.

After it cooled I helped him paint where his hand was in peach colored acrylic paint.

I decorated the front and put the month and year on the back in fabric paint.

After it dried, I strung a piece of green yarn through the hole and hung it on the wall.

Instead of a handprint, if the child has the patience, you can have them use thumbprints to make 4 leaf clovers.
