  • Step 1

    HEAD (in yellow yarn)
    Start at the top of the head.
    Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
    Rnd 2: inc 6 times [12]
    Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [18]
    Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [24]
    Rnd 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [30]
    Rnd 6: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [36]
    Rnd 7 – 10: sc in all 36 st [36]
    Rnd 11: (sc in next 4 st, dec) repeat 6 times [30]
    Insert the safety eyes between round 8 and 9 with an interspace of 2 stitches.
    Rnd 12: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat 6 times [24]
    Rnd 13: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 6 times [18]
    Rnd 14: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
    Stuff the head with fiberfill.
    Rnd 15: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat 3 times [9]
    Rnd 16: sc in all 9 st [9]
    Rnd 17: inc 9 times [18]
    Slst in next st. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
    Finish stuffing the head.

  • Step 2

    BEAK (in orange yarn)
    Ch 7. Crochet around both sides of the foundation chain.
    Rnd 1: start in second ch from hook, sc in next 5 st, inc in next st. We continue on the other side of the foundation chain, sc in next 5 st [12]
    Rnd 2 – 3: sc in all 12 st [12]
    Slst in next st. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Flatten the beak and pinch it in a semi-circle shape. Pin the beak in between round 9 and 10 of the head, right underneath the eyes. Sew the beak on with the leftover yarn tail.

  • Step 3

    BODY (in yellow yarn)
    Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
    Rnd 2: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 2 times [8]
    Rnd 3: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 2 times [10]
    Rnd 4: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 2 times [12]
    Rnd 5: (sc in next st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [18]
    Rnd 6: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [24]
    Rnd 7: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [30]
    Rnd 8: sc in next 10 st, dec 5 times, sc in last 10 st [25]
    Rnd 9: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 5 times [30]
    Rnd 10: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [36]
    Rnd 11: sc in all 36 st [36]

    Stuff the body with fiberfill.
    Rnd 15: (sc in next st, dec) repeat 6 times [12]
    Slst in next st. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Finish stuffing the body. Using your yarn needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each remaining stitch and pull it tight to close the hole. Fasten off and weave in the yarn end.
    The decreases in round 8 of the body face down. Sew round 17 of the head over rounds 5 to 9 of the body.

  • Step 4

    WING (make 2 wings in yellow yarn)
    Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
    Rnd 2: inc 6 times [12]
    Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [18]
    Rnd 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [24]
    Rnd 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [30]
    Flatten the wing. The wing does not need to be stuffed.
    Rnd 6: sc through stitches on both sides at once to join, sc in all 14 st [14]
    Slst in next st. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Pin the wings to both sides of the body. The round side faces downward and the front touches round 13. Sew only the front to round 11 to 13. Leave the rest of the wing untouched. If you make more ducklings, you can sew the wings in different positions.

  • Step 5

    FOOT (make 2 feet in orange yarn)
    Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
    Rnd 2: (sc in next 2 st, inc in next st) repeat 2 times [8]
    Rnd 3: (sc in next 3 st, inc in next st) repeat 2 times [10]
    Rnd 4: (sc in next 4 st, inc in next st) repeat 2 times [12]
    Rnd 5: sc in all 12 st [12]
    Flatten the foot. The foot does not need to be stuffed.
    Rnd 6: crochet through stitches on both sides at once to join, sc in all 5 st [5]
    Slst in next st. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Pin the feet underneath the body, the back side touching round 10 to 12 of the body. Sew the feet on with the leftover yarn tail.

  • Step 6

    BELLY (in off-white yarn)
    Rnd 1: start 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
    Rnd 2: inc 6 times [12]
    Rnd 3: (sc in next st, inc in next st) repeat 6 times [18]
    Slst in next st. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Pin the belly to the body, the bottom side touches round 15 of the body. Sew the belly on with the leftover yarn tail.
