  • How to make a camera or camera accessory. How To Make A Camera Obscura - Step 1
    Step 1

Cover the windows in black card - doesn't matter how untidy it looks as long as you block out all the light.

Then using the pin make a hole- you may need to widen the hole -just widen it until you start to see the upside down image of outside and it will become clearer.

    Step 2

Enjoy the results, you can photograph the results if you wish- here is an artist that does that :

If its a white wall it'll be in colour, just have to make the pinhole big enough -mine ended up about 1cm.

And any camera will work (but something you can change the shutterspeed would be ideal)
you just point it in the general direction of the wall the camera obscura image is projected onto- ideally nearish to the pinhole and you may need a tripod or set the camera down on a table/ flat surface and have a really long shutter speed - about 10seconds because it'll be pretty dark in the room

Hope that helps

How do you actually take the picture? Where do you aim the camera? Can I use a point-and-shoot camera?
